A leak in my swimming pool

Hello everyone!  My name is Kai.  I am the little big man.  I am single, handsome, with a dark complexion.  My name means “ocean dweller”, which I hope to become some day.  I enjoy eating and napping and, on occasion, a stroll to catch some fresh air.  I am fairly new to the area.  One might say I am trying to get back on my feet again... for the first time.

The first major business to report relates to my indoor swimming pool.  I spent the past nine months in this pool.  The food and atmosphere were excellent.  I wished to never leave.  Then, last Wednesday, January 3rd at around 11 AM, a leak sprung in the swimming pool floor.  Well of course, I panicked.  I swam to the bottom to take a look.  Things were worse than I thought.  The pool water was gushing down a very narrow tunnel.  I followed, despite the tight fit, for hours upon hours until finally at 7:34 PM, I came to the end.  You will never believe what I found.

First, I took my first breath of air.  Not bad but a bit over-rated, especially here in Boston..   Then I met my mommy.  She was beautiful and warm.  Her touch really put me at ease after a long day.  Then I met my daddy.  Well he needs a little bit of work.  His hair was a mess, he was unshaven, and his breath was a little garlicky.  I’ll take him though.  Then I met my Auntie Heather.  She has a striking resemblance to my mom.  She cried when she heard my name for the first time.

Since then life has been pretty good.  At 23”, 8 lbs, 14 ounces, they say I was born quite big for my age.  I figure, go with it, and have been eating like a crazy man since, gaining 2.5 ounces per day.  I admit.  I get a little crazy at times and even snort when I am trying to feed.  My daddy calls me pig man when I do.

The other thing they say is I was born as a 2 week old.  I have a full head of dark hair and am quite aware of my surroundings.  Since day one I have been able to pick my head up and move it around.  Currently, I have been restricting work outs to a few minutes of Tai Bo each morning.

I have met a lot of my family too.  I met my Mimi, who tells me all these wonderful stories of things we will do together.  I met my GrammE who sings me nice lullabies when I need to relax.  My Grampa can hold me in the palm of his hand.  He is the warmest to sleep on which is nice.  Then I met my cousin Brook who told me to hang in there.  She says everything gets much easier.  And finally my Uncle Jason.  He seems like a fun man with a lot of fun toys.  I still need to meet my Grampy, who is helping people in Louisianna that have swimming pools that are too big, plus a bunch of other amazing friends and family.

So, this has been enjoyable and all but I really do miss my swimming pool.  If anyone is good at fixing leaky pools, let me know.

Love,

Kai

P.S.  Here is a video of me in week 1.

    Dear Kai,
As a northbound visitor coming from Richmond, VA I was fortunate to be able to see you Kai during your third week in the fresh air capsule (this past Monday and Tuesday, Jan 22 and 23). I hope you appreciate the hard work I did to enable you and you new family stay toasty warm this winter by stacking at least a half cord of firewood and collecting several wheelbarrow loads of kindling for future fires in the wood stove. It was great to hold you and look into those big eyes of yours. You are imprinted into my memory for life (that being my life!). Stay healthy, Kai, and don't get too close to Mimi when she is feeling under the weather.

Love Uncle Ben (not your real uncle, but that's OK.)

    Dear Kai,
Welcome!! What a lucky boy you are to have such wonderful parents at your beck and call. Be gentle with them - parents can be fragile.
We all look forward to meeting you soon.
Oh - what's your favorite color?
    Love, Aunt Jan
